Instead of buying an actual SD Reader for the GC Memory card slot on the Wii, I've decided to try making my own after reading some guides on it. However, I have a few questions regarding the SD slot.

What I'm wondering is, can you use an SD adapter as a replacement for the SD card slot? I ask because I have a spare SD adapter for my microSD card but I don't have any SD slots that I can salvage for the GC memory card. If you can use an SD adapter as a replacement, how do you do the wiring so that the memory card reads from the SD adapter?

EDIT: Oh, and another question: Can SD Boot be booted from the front SD slot of the Wii? Just asking because I didn't want to use GC Homebrew Launcher if it isn't necessary.
