Question about DLC for a USA game used on a European console and account

Hi, i have a european (italian) account on my Nintendo Switch and i would like to buy the US version of Marvel vs Capcom Fighting collection. Well, i'm quite sure that the free updates will be automatically downloaded even if if use my italian account, right? But it it shoudl be available some DLC content, is it necessary to create a US account and buy them using that account? Or can I buy them in my italian Nintendo store?

Even Nintendo can't give a clear answer about that.

You can play games from a card that is not from your region.
But the DLC content shown in the eShop is only for the region of your account (according to Nintendo).
DLC content for other regions is just not shown whether you own the game or not.
So you will likely need a US account for that.

Just check how many title IDs is there for the game, for example Xenoblade 2 have two different ID, japanese version ID is different than the global one, so DLC is different, but anyway if you bought digital in the US store, if you go into your Italian eshop if the game isn't available for purchase then it is under the same title ID.

i woul like to buy the phisical USA copy as it includes the little comic. Yesterday i tried to created a US account (I choosed United States as Country), i have to try if loggin with this account i'm able ot see the USA store. If so, i woudl be able to buy US DLC, if available...

Just set up an US eshop account, I have done it for multiple countries.

Almost all games are either USEU or worldwide (same between multiple regions) and the DLC will also work between regions on those. So almost certainly it will work, only about 10% of games seem to be region specific. Though having a US account is good anyway since games can be a bit cheaper there. And AUS gets games a bit earlier.
