Do all SATA HDD boards and SATA HDDs (especially 2TB) work on the PS2's Sony's Network Adapter?

Also, how can I add PS1 and PS2 games to the PS2's HDD? Do I always need to take it from the Network Adapter and connect it to the PC or I may I transfer PS1 and PS2 games from the PC to it? If the latter, wouldn't it be too slow?

OPL support up to 2TB, there is a limit to how many games that you can install with WinHiip, which is 256 even though there are ways around it. You can use HDL Dump and a batch installer.

You would need a SATA converted PS2 network adapter if you want a SATA drive like the one below.

Ok, but which SATA HDD boards and SATA HDDs (especially 2TB) are compatible with a to be converted to SATA PS2's Sony's IDE Network Adapter?

Does HDL Dump require one to take the HDD fron the PS2 and connect it to the PC, and if not, wouldn't it be too slow FTPing games to the HDD from the PC? I use OPL via SMB.

You need a converted SATA network adapter, the one I shown you is converted, the official one that isn't converted is IDE, largest IDE drive is 750GB, so you need a converted sata network adapter, base on HDL instruction you still need to take out the drive and connect to a computer.

Ok, but are there already SATA-converted PS2 Sony Network Adapter for sale? I asked which SATA boards were compatible with it since I thought there weren't.

If so, that's annoying. Is that the fastest way to transfer games to the HDD?

You can buy something like this

Or you can buy the SATA board, and the IDE Network Adapter seperately and do it yourself, it is $20 cheaper.

Thanks, but which SATA boards and HDDs are compatible with the Sony Network IDE Adapter? Does the SATA HDD compatibility have to do with the SATA board or the Sony Network Adapter?

SATA doesn't work with IDE connector, so you need the SATA connector if you want to use SATA drive.

This is IDE so you can't use SATA drive with it

You need the SATA adapter if you want to use a SATA drive.

Ok, but do you know if all SATA adapters/boards are compatible with the Sony Network Adapter and which SATA drives are compatible with the SATA boards?

The purple board I show you should work with a Sony official PS2 network adapter, As for the drive it doesn't matter as long it is sata. The first picture I shown you was one I had before, different color than what the purple one is, I bought mine already assemble.

But I thought +2TB SATA HDDs wouldn't work.

So, you don't know if other SATA boards than Bitfunx work?

Is there a maximum storage limit for OPL storage if using it via SMB?
