Hacking Question about cIOS

yes and no. it supported DL games that were not burned. the dip didn't come along until rev5. but it was IOS36v5. check the changelog that comes with the cIOS for this and more info.

Well, just for fun, I want to throw in every one of the cIOS revisions up till rev15 somewhere...
Right now I've got rev13b patched to and installed as IOS4, and a regular install of rev14

If I patch rev1 to IOS60 will the System Menu run?

you will get much the same result as just using preloader to boot the system menu with 249. there may be some functionality, but trying to access certain things will not work. just try to mess around the settings while using 249 and see.

That lets the wii read the entire disc using LowUenencryptedRead(), instead of only some sections of the disc. It's for disc-ripping, not games.

I don't know if you have to use a certain slot, and you probably already know this, but Hermes cIOS 222/223 fixes this. Also, Giantpune, wouldn't your cIOS work? That's right, I know about it!
