i have a "first day release" pal wii.
My reading problems started a year ago.
i got no dre, simply the wii dont recognise the disk, three ticks and stop.
i decided to calibrate the laser. everything works fine, but every 2 months, more or less, i ve had to recalibrate the len.
it started at 850 2k ohmios,
and actually is 230 ohmios.
it still recognising disks, but eventually i got dres.
basically my len is very near to death.
im thinking in buying a replacement len.
but i wish to know if someone who had changed his len, has been capable of reading DL dvd, like smash bros.
thanks.

It should be of a good quality. Just make sure you tweak the potentiometer to a higher resistance when you install it so you don't blow the new lens too.

I got it off e-bay from a hongkong seller.. can't remember which one though, but i expect all the sellers get their stuff from the same place. At the time the cost was £23.00 inc delivery.

I wonder if the same thing would work for my gamecube. My gamecube is very unreliable on backups, but the backups work fine in my wii.

Anyone know where to get a gamecube replacement laser? Divineo is out of stock.
