    Quake DS - Prerelease version

    Quake on your DS

simonjhall has released a prerelease version of Quake DS. Everybody's favourite game is now available in a DS flavour. The game runs at a fast framerate with sound included which is very impressive. However there are still a lot of graphical issues.

Quake DS is off to a brilliant start, it supports DLDI, touchscreen mouselook, and either the shareware or full version of Quake. For downloads and installation instructions visit the homepage below. Thanks to hadrian for the news tip!

Wow, it must have taken quite a lot of hacking to get it running... Respect!

Just tried it on my G6, and it looks/runs pretty good (despite all the missing textures). I did notice that strafe left/right was not working at all. Pressing left on the D-pad (strafe left) would "look up" and right on the D-pad had no effect at all. Any else experience the same problems?

Overall, very good and very impressive work! [IMG]

Did you follow the directions exactly? I notice you have the pak0.pak in "/id" instead of "/id1." See if that fixes the problem.

They just like inventing a new ways of making things like this frustrating to get to work properly.

Great! Now when does Quake4DS release? [IMG] Copying all the files of Quake4 to a flash card requires a flash card of, let's say 4 GB [IMG]

It was clearly explained in the directions that this was needed... [IMG]

"3. Visit Chishm's DLDI page (above) and download the DLDI driver file which corresponds to your NDS booting method."

People should consider taking the time to read a bit more. [IMG]
