You should also keep in mind that the Gateway team doesn't have the spending power to mass-produce like Nintendo, so they have to obtain components and manufacturing contracts at a much higher cost than Nintendo would.Actually, FPGAs, etc., custom PCB manufacturing in small batches, extra components, plastic shell molding, etc. add up quick. The FPGA used by the GW is around 25USD each.
