I'm not really sure if it's possible to port it to the 3DS. It might be, but i don't think so. Check this site out and it will tell you what you can do because of what you have.

Ah, I already know about everything stated on the site. I was just hoping that it would be possible to use a 3DS instead.

Ok but then either you need to get any of these things or keep the pokemon saves on the cartridges.

The problem isn't CAN it be done, the problem is "has anyone figured out everything you'd need to do in order to accomplish it" and the answer is apparently, no.

Apparently, Stevice10 and others are working on a lib which supports such a thing :) of course, this is what I've been told...

There's an R4 save dongle for PC that can do this but that requires you to pay for something.
If you wanted a tool for 3DS, TWLSaveTool is exactly what you want. However you need to either buy one of 2 Pokemon games (Poke Transporter or Pokemon Dream Radar) or install a CFW. Otherwise it's perfect for your needs and even supports deleting saves!

Necrothread~
This thread is nearly 2 years old, ya know. Although your reply isn't wrong, it's kind of useless to revive this old thread.

Update: I found a way to circumvent the "paying money" issue.
I have a Poke Transporter QR code for eShop. You go to the home menu, press L+R, select the QR Code option and scan it. You basically skip having to get it via PokeBank. I haven't tested it yet but for people who haven't downloaded Poke Transporter who want to PM me and I'll send it to you.

    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

@Maximumbeans, I had a friend who had a glass chess set for their birthday.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
    That sounds really cool
