I think the answer to both freeEmunand between jobs Xerpi https://bitbucket.org/xerpi/ and CFW 4.x. Yet the library sdmmc.c present in https://github.com/archshift/Decrypt9. Unfortunately I do not have enough knowledge to realize the available material. But from what I understand by reading the various codes. We must stop the processes of code arm9 ARM11 and then launch the boot sector X of the SDMC

seeing as most peoples concern is primarily for pokemon, you may want to look at this
http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?41752-(X-Y)-KeySAV2-Box-Battle-Video-Data-Viewer

not sure exactly how much of your save will be decrypted, but it should be the main bulk of it, get your manually decrypted save, inject it into a new save with pokehex, then import into your retail cart in cfw sdf
Why would Gateway want you to be able to boot in to emuNAND without their flash cart? Their profits would immediately go from a lot to a lot of nothing.

You could afford to buy a 3DS console but you can't afford the price of two games for it?
idk, i think they might consider just allowing people to just use classic mode seeing as MT are giving up the goods for free anyway, maybe people should try catch them in a happy mood once n3DS support is released......although i doubt they would really do it, no point them giving stuff out for free, im surprised they even let people downgrade without the gateway card

The problem is he wants to dump the save with gateway, but that's wrong.

You dump the full game with gateway (Pokemon is CARD2, so the save is in the game dump). Then you use card2 save tool to extract it. You can either decrypt the full save with powersaves, or decrypt at least your pokemon without it.

Then you load your dumped rom with gateway and import the save with save data filer. This means your original save on your cartridge is untouched. You can restore your 9.x sysnand backup with gateway if you ever need to play it directly.

If you own the games there's really no benefit to playing your physical carts over dumped copies of your own games via gateway.

yeah you can replace the powersaves steps with dumping the rom in the gateway menu then extracting the save with card2 savetool, until you have a decrypted save to open with pokehex....not perfect and quite long winded, but its an option

I'm not understanding why you need emunand if you want to play DS card games...just boot sysnand and load the ds card.

Because I would ideally like to be able to carry around one flash cart, and right now that's not that realistic if I want to play 3DS and DS games.

Because people are being stupid, here's the summary and explanation for everything:

OP wants to use Sysnand 9.2 with Emunand 9.4 w/o a gateway. So he can play pokemanz.

This is impossible, seeing as gateway has included DRM and various card-required functions in order to boot later emunands. The solution for people without a gateway is to use the MT-Launcher.

The MT-Launcher doesn't run on anything but 4.X sysnand, as it uses the DS-profile exploit rather than the new web browser exploit. Which means you are stuck with old keys and no pokemanz (unless you reset your save file).

The solution is to wait for someone to make a new emunand launcher for 9.2 (not gateway), or downgrade and don't play your old pokemon save. Either that, or sit on 9.2 and play pokemon on that FW.

Yup.

I bought the console ages ago, when I didn't have so much of a money issue. Recently, I haven't been able to afford much of anything. I also got the console as a gift - I didn't pay for it.

Wow that's a lot of steps. I still think it would be better if I just wait and see if anyone releases a homebrew to boot emuNAND. I can be fairly lazy.

yep well i did say its long winded....but for anyone where pokemon is the only thing holding them back it would probably be worth it as a "right now" solution

As the title says, has anyone managed to create a simple emuNAND homebrew yet?

Basically, what I mean is - I'm running sysNAND 9.2 and I'd prefer to run emuNAND too, but unfortunately Gateway want you to buy their flashcard first before you can even boot into the emuNAND.

I don't want to downgrade my console then use MT Cards software for emuNAND because then I can't play Pokemon Y without erasing it first (NOT GONNA HAPPEN).

So, has anyone managed to create a Launcher.dat for the browser exploit that simply boots you into emuNAND? I don't care about devmenu of any of that.

Thanks!
if you have eshop version then read the spoiler

2 days ago I downgraded my 3ds. but first i made a emuand of my 9.2 sysnand. and when using mt card laucher to boot into the 9.2 emunand on my now 4.2 sysnand my Alpha sapphire, X and smash bros save still work. it might be a side effect of downgrading they new keys must be still apart of the nand so they are loaded on boot and then when emunand runs it can use them.

unless i had a weird fluke do this.

back up SD card files and sysnand pair to PC.
make emunand of 9.2 sysnand
downgrade to 4.x
remove sd card and format 4.x sysnand to unlink it from emunand
copy sd card files back
run mt card launcher and go to classic mode
check you save data.
if my case is a weird fluke and save data fail to load, reformat sd card and restore sysnand backup back to 9.2 and copy sd card files back.

yeah afaik eshop titles use your system unique encryption as the saves are stored on the SD card and dont use the cart 6.x save encryption

The following is merely speculation as I have not tested it.

But if that's the case Pokemon Bank can be run on a 4.x system running emuNAND and interpret the save files of both eShop and retail games and possibly convert the card2 save file because the system is using 4.x keys just like the eShop version.

well you could boot into emunand from 6.x+ transfer your pokemon to pokebank, then downgrade to 4.x boot up emunand and retrieve them, but it would just be the pokemon, not the whole save...........you could on the other hand boot into emunand on 6.x+ update to 9.5, buy a eshop copy of the game, use the save data transfer tool to send your save from the cart to eshop version, then downgrade and continue your save......probably sell your retail cart to get some money back from the cost of the eshop version

there is one other route, but i read that games that come with a game built in, if you decrypt the nand and use funkycia to convert the built in game to a cia file, that game will act legit, which would bypass needing to buy a eshop copy to use savedata transfer tool as you could run it in classic mode with a cia installed copy as apparently bundled copies work differently

The only solution currently available to you is to buy a Gateway 3DS, but that will require you to stop being a cheap brat. As Xzi stated, you can afford the console, but not the flashcart that is the price of 2 games?

I f***ing wonder why... Actually, it is not Gateway that is inconveniencing you, but Nintendo, as they make you buy their console to play any of the games sold for it. Why can't they distribute the games for free directly on nintendo.com and release an emulator for PC/Mac/Linux???

Interesting, so how does that work? It lets you drag and drop Pokemon to and from the server but when you try to boot the cart what happens?

Would your own CIA version of a Pokemon game be recognized by the official save data transfer tool?

I disagree, it's not about money, it's that we don't feel the need to pay for a product we'll barely use anyway.
