    Hello,

I am from the UK and I am looking to purchase a modded 360 console which will allow me to play backup DVD games. These will be copies of original disks which are still in my possession. Would anyone be able to recommend a reliable UK website where I could send my xbox in order for them to modify it? Also, could you recommend anywhere to purchase backup games from? There are many websites and I don't know which to choose.

I have been considering asking in a couple of local businesses to see if they are able to perform the mod. I do not know specifically what to ask for though, to ensure I can play backup DVD games. Is there a certain type of mod for this? Will the xbox mod have to be updated (reflashed?) in the future for newer games? Will past and future original disks work on a modded console, or will it need an update to play those too?

    Thank you for your time.

I'm not in the UK so I couldn't advise you on who to send it to.

The mod is "Disc drive flashing", or "Installing CFW onto the disc drive". You don't want a RGH, or JTAG.
It's possible that in the future you disc drive flash may need to be updated.
Original discs will works perfectly fine on a modded console. New, or old.

Thank you. How often are updated generally required?

They're usually not required that often. Just when Microsoft updates something to make them stop working. The last update was latest year IIRC.
