Hacking Purchased WiiWare game from Japanese shop channel...

...and I can't get it to run on my NTSC-U Wii. Please tell me there's a way to make it run on my Wii short of going through the looooooooooooooong process of NAND dumping and using FreeTheWads.

Funny that a WiiWare game I actually purchase doesn't work. *lol*

(And no, I can't just download a wad of the game. The game I bought, Alien Crush Returns, hasn't been dumped yet.)

When you mean it don't work, you get a message saying "Can't boot channel"?

Providing you're on 3.2 Wii Update, you can use Star Fall (shouldn't be hard to fine) to force the Wii to load any region channel.


Otherwise you might as well dump your Wii Data (only takes about 30 minutes) and use tf_wad_packer to make the wad. Then region free it.

Well, since I don't have an SD card big enough to dump my Wii's NAND, I guess I'll have to use StarFall. Now, if I use AnyRegionChanger to downgrade to 3.2U, can I upgrade back to 3.3U easily?

yes, you can. either using the wii's build in updating, or the same program you downgraded with.
