3.18 vita is even better than psp imho. Analog dualshock controller mode support, two analog sticks, better screen, longer battery life, screen-shot support from menu etc.

a 6.60 psp and a 3.18 vita has same PS1 games compatibility if you are using TN-X. Except some games need popsloader which isn't possible on Vita. There are even a few tricks to make them work on vita. In the end, if you aren't nutpicking, TN-X compatibility is perfect.

When ARK3 releases, it should add PS1 exploit support up to at least 3.36, and possibly higher if you don't mind using SMOKE's PSP-Installer.

Vita (PSTV 720p) ps one emulator is smoother than PSP GO (480p) at least with the games I have played on a TV plus you can use an arcade stick with PSTV and appropiate adapter such as Mayflash Universal Xbox360 PS3 black adapter.

psp. It is easy to softmod, cheaper, and if it is a 2000 or 3000 model you can hook it up to a tv. Plus you dont have to deal with expensive ps vita memory cards and just buy a memorystick pro duo adapter and use something like 2 64gb micro sd cards and you will be all set.

I just tried this but my vita won't download it. I tried rebooting a few times. Still nothing

enable wifi mode on your vita then goto the playstation store on the pc and goto your downloads list and click download to vita then switch your vita off and back on and wait a few secs it should add it to the notifications section and start downloading.

you may need to turn on the option in setting for game updates or something along those lines.

Yup did all that, still nothing. Lame. I was hoping I didn't have to use a ps3 since my ps3s are all cfw

Yea everything is enabled. Auto update and all. I'm on 3.01

hmm thats pretty low, its possible they didnt add that feature until later.
what is it your trying to install btw because now that you have it on your downloads list you can just load up the ps store on your vita and goto the downloads list on that and it should be there also on that fw you could try installing it through package installer its easy to add if you dont already have it

and if i buy an PCH-1000 Model series, does anybody knows what fw version i probably get? Because the 1000 was only produced until 2014 (?) and the 3.18 Software was released in August 2014...
i think it's very hard to find one with 3.18. i've wrote 5 or more persons who sell the vita and the fw versions are 3.36 - 3.51, none of them was under 3.36 :(

hunde; I suggest IF you live in an area with lots of pawn shops, try them; most will be glad (during slow hours) to check fw and find you the right one. I've purchased several PSP's and PSPgo and each one ALREADY HAD THE cfw AND most emulators already installed and perfectly working, if not specific games and ROMS+ISOS etc.. Here in my city is easier to find one pre-hacked then to find one on 'proper' fw.
