Well what did you expect? Its only to make up on development costs.

Cue bitching from people wanting a full 3D title.

Game will be out in North America on October 20th and Europe on the 23rd.

I think it looks quite nice. There are some sweet looking effects in those screenshots. To be honest, I didn't expect them to (re-)make it completely (in) 3D. I don't think I will play it again on my PSP though.

Fixed! If it's getting Rockstar some (more) money to make awesome new games, I'm totally fine with porting it to the PSP.

Looks like they just bumped up the textures and added some lighting effects...

Of course the did that. If they kept it the same, chances are it wouldn't sell as well on the PSP, cause everyone knows how much more capable it is.

It's.... the SAME GAME.... fromt the SAME DEVELOPER.

That said, this looks a lot better than the DS version (Captain Obvious, to the rescue.), but I liked the touchscreen parts and the stylized look the DS version had to offer.

...I should play the DS version again, it's a great game. [IMG]

Still looks very nice in my book!
But PSP-owners are probably used to something else.

Hmm.. This could have been a really good game... if the camera was like the one in LC Stories...

Hopefully there'll be an option of zooming in and out. I hated the fact I couldn't see more than 5 feet around me in the DS version.

I actually think the new effects are a little distracting. I mean, I can't even tell what the hell is going on in the first screenshot. All I see is a bunch of fire. [IMG]

Anyway, the game will still be fun. I mean, it IS Chinatown Wars, after all...

The graphics look pretty nice but I don't think its really worth getting if you've tried the ds version already.

Top-down view needs more cartoonish graphics, it just does not fit this realistic style. GTACWDS was great because it reminded you of the old GTAs, but this does not.

It looks alot better then the DS game, not something surprising since the PSP is more capable...I never finished the DS version, so I may get this instead.

Edit: First PSP Trailer went live today.

Anyway, I'm quite happy about the news. Chinatown Wars is a great game, without a doubt one of the best on the DS, but it really suffered from the low framerate and resolution, as well as the little storage space DS cartridges offer when compared to a UMD (or the Go!'s 16GB flash drive). Music and sound effects suffer from high compression, and while the map on the bottom screen is quite handy, and the touchscreen-minigames are fun for a while, I certainly think way too many sacrifices had to be made to get the game running on the DS.

5% better graphics and one screen or 2 screens and a touchscreen. MAN life is freaking tough! [IMG]

Considering the touch screen is pretty much useless in the DS version, and the game is displayed on the top screen and doesn't span both, the "two screen" argument doesn't really work. Plus the touchscreen minigames were boring as hell, from the scratchcards and the hotwiring, all the way to the making of the molotovs.
