Due to be launched next Tuesday, the PSP-3000 Ratchet & Clank Entertainment Pack has managed to slip into at least one Best Buy a few days early, where it was quickly snatched up by friendly tipster Aaron G. He sent us a few unboxing shots out of the kindness of his heart, and now he's undoubtedly too engrossed in National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets and that ultra-bright screen to pay us much heed. Oh Nicolas Cage, what a charmer you are.

As annoyed as everyone seems to be with the DSi, at least Nintendo's design team is making an effort with changing the aesthetics and form.
Sony just released the same damn thing over and over again. Luckily I haven't bought a PSP till now and that psp with the oh-so-smexy screen will hopefully be picked up at launch by me.

Doesn't apple sell iPhones without contract now? If you got one even without a plan, you have all those features, and more. Spending $180 on something with a crappy camera, crappy MP3 AAC support and a crappy web browser when you could get something else like an iPod touch or iPhone.

Adding camera's + removing GBA slot is pretty major aesthetically IMO.
All thats different with the PSP is a different home button and a thinner ring on the UMD.

So it's okay for Nintendo to release two revisions of their handheld, but it's not okay for Sony?

Also, Sony pretty much did it right the first time, that's why they didn't need to change the core design with both revisions. The DS phat however was ugly as fuck.
Just because the PSP Slim and PSP 3000 are better than the fat PSP, that doesn't mean they did it "wrong".
The only thing they didn't do right was that goddamn d-pad.

Last I read you had to buy an iPhone and activate it on the spot, unless you got it from eBay, which then you could run a few apps on the computer to activate it yourself, and have every feature except the phone,text.

The PSP-3000 was never meant to be a new revolutionary PSP, just a few minor updates.
Console revisions can help get sales up. Sony has proved this with the ps2 and they are trying to repeat their success with the psp. It's nothing more than a way to boost sales up.

Uh.. I was under the impression that the new 3000 model only came with the Madden bundle. The R&C bundle had the 2000.

Anyway, the Madden bundle has been available at my local WalMart for at least a week.

They really need to stop releasing PSP's unless there are major changes done, if you ask me.

Tbh, this'll be doing us all a favour. PSP-2000's price should dip a lot, meaning cheaper PSPs for all!

The DS has a build in mic , and the DSlite has better screens.
The DSi become a completly new Firmware(and look).

The PSP 3000 is a "littl" updat of the PSP 2000
