I don't see the usefulnesses in owning an outdated PSP firmware.

Probably a tool for stores or factories/warehouses to update the PSP's they have in-stock when necessary. Stock never sells immediately, it's often stored for a while before it's put on the shelves, y'know.

It's rather odd, I don't think I've seen one of those before. Quite a collectible, if it's legit.

Owning a UMD you can't just buy is what makes this interesting.

No one ever made knock-off UMDs, right?

There are UMD writers out there, but they cost thousands of dollars last I checked and I don't think someone bought one just to make a firmware UMD, haha.

I've never seen a blank UMD in my life, unless we're talking about developer hardware, in which case, it's still a great collectible. :P

I know right? Actually, if this was some kind of emulator made by someone... I guess I would still buy it.

Yeah, I'm still torn between this. I honestly don't need this. Only reason I would buy this is to... be able to say I own something like that, I guess? Oh well, I have a couple of days to decide.

I don't see much point in getting this, but merely because it's pretty... useless. :P

Foxi pretty much said what I was going to say.

    I love obscure gaming things.
If I where you I should buy it or at least go over to Assemblergames and let them know it.
    They specialize in the obscure.

Yeah I'll do that if I decide against buying it.

Well, I bought it. ~$2 for something like this is nothing compared to the feeling of owning something so obscure.

    Thanks!

I guess I could register to the forum and show them, but I'll wait till I have it. Maybe I can rip it too or something. Not that it matters, it's just a Firmware.

    Yep.
    Deffo do it ;]

If you're willing to dump it then I'm willing to obtain a copy if you don't mind ;]
I love these kind of things.
    Digital or physical.
I'd rather have the physical copy tho xd
But who am I to force it off you.

    Why wouldn't I dump it?

There's no reason in keeping it for myself. Plus, it's only a firmware, released several years ago. I'm not even hurting Sony's business if I dump this UMD.
However, I don't think I want to part with it.

If you're ever willing to sell it then I'm willing to buy it off you ;D

    Hmm true true.
Lemme know if you posted it on the Assembler forums.

Awesome stuff, go to Assembler. Discussion of stuff like this is common there. I am interested in this too, I can't wait until I have a job so I can start buying dev stuff.
