The Video Store on the PlayStation Network, up until now, has been a service that only those in Europe and the US have been able to enjoy. Pretty soon, Australia can, too!

The service will launch this Thursday, bringing along "hundreds" of movies including fairly-new ones such as Ninja Assassin, Avatar, and the scalp-shearing Inglorious Basterds. Oh yes, mates, there will be violence.

Rentals start at AU$ 4, while purchases are at AU$ 8.

Has Sony even managed to get the video store content available to Canada yet? Honestly, it's pretty pathetic if they can't work this out with the rights holders in all this time, when it's become available even to Europe and Australia.

I don't care personally as I don't own a PS3, but honestly, it's a bit ridiculous. I don't like the idea of paying for downloads that you can't view anywhere else, of course, but it still irritates me they can't even offer it.
