A New Japanse Game is released and the Sky3ds is Supported ( FW: 9.5+ ) ...
So.. Is Fire Emblem IF like Animal Crossing un-play-able for the Sky3ds?
(Link https://sky3dslatestupdates.wordpress.com/ )
So not all Games will have the Lock?
All new games will slowly roll out with it until it becomes the standard this game was more than likely being developed before these new checks were put into place.

lol they would be loosing far more money by doing that than if they just left sky3DS working forever, imagine that, "guys we can fix this, to stop a couple of hundred thousand pirates we will just cut off support for millions of o3DS owners"

well I doubt the games of the future will all be n3ds exclusive, but the way to go is a n3ds + 9.0-9.2 firmware with cfw/gateway or sky

English is not my native language, but I don't know why you guys interpreting, me the wrong way

I said I doubt and highly unlikely that Nintendo will go this route, but the fact still remains that a few game n3ds games cannot be played on o3ds even if you got a cfw and no different with sky also being not be able to play a few games (for now) with new AP checks, so both are missing out specific games

got no sky just, an o3ds with 9.2, which kidda bad that I can't play xenoblade... well got it in the wii anyways but it's favorable if you got a n3ds with 9.0-9.2 firmware since you don't miss much

Oh stfu.
It's true that not every game is available on the eShop, but 99% of the games that aren't are shovelcrap.
Did anyone say you can't buy physical games? I don't even understand your argument. Fact is no one uses the sky3ds solely for backups of their own games, stop being delusional

In addition to what others have posted I just wanted to say you're 100% wrong about the 'fact' you stated. I only use my Sky3DS to play backups of retail cartridges I own. I've never downloaded a 3DS rom illegally. I have a 2DS on 8.x firmware that I keep around just for dumping games. My current library isn't huge (25 games or so), but the convenience of the Sky3DS is a big factor when I'm travelling. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who also prefer physical cartridges but like the convenience of digital. Someday perhaps Nintendo will get that and make an account system that accommodates a more Sony-like solution.

Is this confirmation enough for the naysayers, sceptics and morons?

From the Gateway 3.4 release notes:
Today we are proud to present a new firmware update: Gateway Ultra 3.4!

Summary:
* Fixed new antipiracy check
* Improved firmware spoofing

After we noticed issues surrounding some of the latest game backups not functioning
as 3DS files but working just fine as CIA files, we decided to investigate.

What we discovered was truly remarkable: a new kind of antipiracy check! Yes, that’s right!
This took us five minutes to fix and here we are today.

We also improved the firmware spoofing a bit, as now an additional kernel version check is disabled.
This is mostly useful for New 3DS users that are still on 9.5 emunand and want to play firmware spoofed games that require a higher kernel version.
This fix can also be useful for users that want to keep using an older Gateway Ultra firmware and while still being able to play newer games.

That’s it for today folks!

doesn't surprise me, since gateway is using a CFW, more looking forward if they can get past 9.5 emunand for n3ds or even work on 9.3+ sysnand

Thank goodness I decided to have a Gateway then, it seems like Nintendo's main priority is Sky3DS because of the fact they thought they beaten Gateway through just updates.

Oh god, it's like I'm getting this huge deja vu from the old DS days roflmao.
Sounds like a load of baloney to me, sorry.

Guess the diehard Sky3ds fans cant say that it'll never be blocked anymore ;)
Honestly, Im surprised Sky3ds even lasted this long.

I always thought Gateway would be a more robust solution in the end. Having kernel access just gives you much more wiggle room.
