First BD-J + Kernel access exploit provided by Sleirsgoevy (29/9/22)

Note: There are several USERLAND exploits, a couple of KERNEL exploits, and there is now a public HYPERVISOR exploits available for 1.xx-2.70 to complete the full exploit chain (23/10/24).

Recently Flatz confirmed he has developed his own HV exploit (1.xx-4.51 which is kept private) which was chained from a PS4 save game, and has successfully dumped PlayStation Secure Processor (27/07/23).

As of August 4th 2022: We can now install PS4/PS5 PKG games and updates (and by extension FPKGs) however official PKGs cannot be run unless you legitimately owned them previously digitally and have a licence for them on your current console, or if you own the disc (for update pkgs).

As of October 6th PS4 FPKG can be played on 4.03 OFW thanks to Sliersgoevy FPKG enabler!

Payload: https://gbatemp.net/download/4-03-fpkg-enabler-hen.38248/

As of October 21st PS4 FPKG can be played on 4.50 thanks to cheburek3000 porting offsets.

As of November 4th ktuff is fixed for 4.51:

Payload: https://gbatemp.net/download/fpkg-enabler-4-51-hen.38306/

Nov 7th PS5 backups loaded via Itemzflow by Lightningmodz and Echostretch. Fully decrypted dumps require system files bundled into them in order to run without crashing with Libhijacker (no hen required), details here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/ps5-exploit-guide.613891/page-109#post-10290677

As of November 30th ps5debug has been released by SiSTR0: https://github.com/GoldHEN/ps5debug

Dec 1st: first PS5 trainer (Dark Souls) is completed ready for the imminent release of REAPER Multi Trainer II by CTN.

Dec 25th: PS5 back up loading via ITEMZFLOW now released: https://pkg-zone.com/details/ITEM00001

As of Jan 2nd 2024 Sleirsgoevy has ported K-Stuff offsets for 3.xx firmwares.

As of Jan 4th 2024 LM had added 3.XX Kstuff to Itemzflow meaning 3.XX-4.51 is now supported for PS4/PS5 backups and dumping.

Oct 8th 2024: BD-JB + Kernel works on 7.61 thanks to user Hammer.
1: Never enable IDU mode.
If you do you will need to enter staff mode by holding L1 + L2 and tapping this combo: circle, cross, square, triangle, right D-Pad. Release L1 + L2 and you can access settings to exit IDU.

2: Try to stay on the lowest FW possible and wait it out for hacks on that firmware.

3: PS5 FPKGs cannot work as a hack for the a53 processor does not publicly exist to enable PS5 content as FPKG/PKG.

4: Installing legit game PKGs you do not own will not work, even if spoofed.

5: If you get stuck in a boot loop at the PS logo, this means the SNVS is corrupted (if hash check fails on boot this causes a “soft brick”).

It’s not “bricked”, just reinstall your current firmware RECOVERY PUP in safe mode!

just a general question. I just went on a buying spree on psn, because of the black Friday deals, and I'm quickly running out of space on my m.2 and external hdd. I might be able to last a few more months, but then I won't have anymore space. I have a 4TB m.2, which I don't really want to upgrade, because I don't have the money. however, I could upgrade the 5TB hdd to an 8TB one, since I'm now moreso in a position to plug the thing in (I was using 5TB, because I needed an unpowered drive due to lack of space). anyway, is there any way to transfer the 5TB content to the 8TB? I don't think it's like the wiiu where you can plug a second hdd in just to transfer content, right? or, will I have to redownload everything?
Why not just delete some games? Surely you dont need everything installed?

I might say that to someone who's pirating, but I don't trust only digital for paid content. that's what I download all games I own, and only the games I own, on the switch, which I'm all digital on. I'm afraid of being locked out of downloading my content. I'll buy whichever's cheapest, and it doesn't matter to me if it's retail or digital.

The PS4 was the same way. Also as far as I know the PS4 and PS5 have a storage size limit of 8TB which is ridiculous in 2024.
I'm running dangerously low on space on the switch especially. I'm all digital on there with about 265 games on a 1.5tb micro sd card. I just discovered today that they have a 2tb sandisk on amazon. it's slightly on sale, I guess for black Friday, so I bought it. I'll have to redownload everything on to that, which is going to suck probably. I think I'm down to maybe 20GBs left on the 1.5tb card, and the next new game I plan to get on that system is dkc returns hd, then of course xenoblade x. I doubt I have enough space for both games unless I use internal storage on my oled switch. though, I'm thinking of the switch 2, which I may not get right away, depending on cost. I'm curious if the switch 2 will use micro sd or m.2. probably the former knowing Nintendo, so it might be a good investment for some extra storage.

You don't need to re-download anything on the Switch. You can just copy the contents from one SD card to the other if using the same Switch.

Also I would highly advise using an SD Card verifier to make sure you received a genuine SD Card as Amazon is loaded with fakes.

oh, yeah. I had forgotten about that. I need to backup my 1.5TB micro sd card. I don't think I'll be playing the switch for a little while, since I'm engrossed in dq III on the ps5 atm, so I can probably go ahead and back it up now.
You could directly copy one drive to another.
that works? I didn't think a playstation formatted drive would be readable on a computer. I do have a laptop. it's my personal preference as far as pc's go, so I'm always getting laptops whenever I need a new computer. I probably won't need a larger hdd for a little while. I have about 800GBs of space left on mine, and I'm a mix between digital and retail on the playstation systems, but that does still seem like low space, especially with some games being over 100GBs.

As long as you don't modify the Nintendo folder you shouldn't have any issues. As soon as you get the new 2TB microSD use a tool like H2testw to verify that the card is real. You don't want to find out later after copying all your Switch data over that you got a fake. This tool will write to the entire card with a pattern and then read it back to verify that the entire card is usable and not a smaller capacity card reprogrammed to look like a bigger one,

@C_2_T the method I’m thinking of requires you to have previously dumped your EAC HDD keys and es_seed.bin.

Then you should be able to mount the drive, and decrypt+copy the contents either to another mounted drive or to the PC’s drive.

I could be wrong.
I'm actually on the latest firmware, never hacked the system.
TheFlows updated BDJ exploit:

https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/bd-jb/tree/master/src/com/bdjb/exploit/sandbox

In short: refined and still working up to 7.61 max.
is this something you have to compile? how are you supposed to use this, out of curiosity? I know next to nothing about ps5 hacks, but interested in learning.

If you are already on the latest PS5 system software version then you can't use this as it only works up to system software version 7.61 and the latest is 10.20.

The files need to be turned into an iso and burned to a BD-RW.

Won’t work on > 7.61 OFW :(

well, I don't even have a bd drive. I think most laptops no longer come with an optical drive, since discs are kinda being phased out beyond games.

about the upgrading drives--with the switch, my anker adapter for usb-c took a long time to read the switch micro sd card, so I think something is wrong with the adapter. both the micro sd card and micro sd card in sd card adapter took a while. I don't think it's the micro sd card. it doesn't really give me any problems in the switch itself.

as for the ps5, I guess I'll have to redownload everything, but sony sure did make it confusing to redownload your library, because ps4 will say download even if you have the ps5 game on an external hdd, so you pretty much have to memorize which system, ps4 or 5, you bought each game for. there are like these subtle, little things it says if you have the game for ps4 or 5 or even psn+ or something. it's confusing.

^^ it's why these consoles and devices deserve to get jailbroken. Keep things simple and functional. But no, consumer is constantly treated like a criminal. I recently learned about "offline sharing" on my ps5. Can't believe i have to keep popping into settings every time I want to switch between two consoles.

Having my original Xbox being hacked and able to run FTP to pc was mind blowing at the time. Every modern console should have these feature instead of having to deal with multiple external HDDs! Can't stand it.

I just thought of something that's going to be tiresome. unlike the series x, there's no way to download a ps5 game directly to the external hdd, even though it's just for storage, so I'll have to copy each game, and with psn+, there are a lot of them, as I always select the ps5 version. damn.
