Oct 8th 2024: BD-JB + Kernel works on 7.61 thanks to user Hammer.

1: Never enable IDU mode.
If you do you will need to enter staff mode by holding L1 + L2 and tapping this combo: circle, cross, square, triangle, right D-Pad. Release L1 + L2 and you can access settings to exit IDU.

2: Try to stay on the lowest FW possible and wait it out for hacks on that firmware.

3: PS5 FPKGs cannot work as a hack for the a53 processor does not publicly exist to enable PS5 content as FPKG/PKG.

4: Installing legit game PKGs you do not own will not work, even if spoofed.

5: If you get stuck in a boot loop at the PS logo, this means the SNVS is corrupted (if hash check fails on boot this causes a “soft brick”).

It’s not “bricked”, just reinstall your current firmware RECOVERY PUP in safe mode!

£700 without disc drive feels like 10k at the moment. Just read the Eurogamer review on ps5 pro and despite being positive in part, I am struggling to justify spending £700. Now that review embargo is lifted by Sony, hope to see a lot more reviews and transformative results for both ps5 and PS4 games....

Don't think it will be long before retailers are offering ps5 pro with disc drive for £700 as bundle deal. Lot of things about pricing that doesn't add up. Looking forward to some sort of ifixit breakdown with cost analyst.

EE are cheaper. I would expect them to sell out first. I suspect these are people buying them for Xmas, rather than scalpers. While the disc drives were definitely being scalped.

Regardless, I don't think you will see a price reduction on PS5 pro for six months. I got £5 off and 1.7% cash back from top cash back

Unless you can find someone that goes bankrupt or some overstock they need to shift quickly. But I'm not convinced

My Pro is set for delivery today. I've been eagerly awaiting my entry into the PS5 jailbreak scene and this is it... hopefully. My plan is to transfer everything from my CFI-2000 model to the Pro, factory reset the slim model, re-pair its disc drive, redownload Astro's playroom, turn off auto-update, and then tuck it away back into its box until an exploit comes for 10.2 down the road. So far the scene has been progressing very nicely, and I'm willing to wait it out for however long it takes. The Pro will be my main machine that I keep online, and I'm excited to see what it brings to the table. It will very likely be the last new console that I ever purchase though, aside from Nintendo consoles of course. My prediction is that the PS5 will be the last great exploitable PlayStation, so this is me making my investment right now and hoping for the best.
