it may only work if it's in the process of downloading. I'm not sure if you can just delete it from the update folder either. I'm pretty sure that there's a way to get rid of it though, and without reformatting.

Think he can FTP into the console when the exploit come out and delete the download update, for now he will just have to get use to the update nag.

I haven't been asking that.... Just patiently waiting and playing my games knowing that I'm on an exploitable software.

I was wondering about that. iirc, there are two update folders and two self files inside the update folder. I remember looking at the folders within the update folder, and they were empty thanks to blocking updates.

Well I think it depends on whether the system allow you to do a manual update to 5.05 since there is a pending download update.

Well he can't really use recovery mode to do a clean format if he want to keep his purchased stuff if he has digital purchased games.

I don't understand that. I had purchased content, installed 4.55 in the recovery menu, made pkgs of that content, and even tested them (considering you can't dump those games unless the game boots).
