    I used an old 2.0 flash drive and it worked perfectly. I wouldn't think it would be because of it being usb 3.0, but I've seen everything when it comes to consoles being picky so it wouldn't surprise me if it was the problem.

    How quickly after success does it turn off?

    Can't imagine why you both fail :{
    @Reaga if you have a USB 2.0 laying about, give that a go. Someone reported success with 2.0 when 3.0 failed, although others have had success with 3.0 so it might not mean much, but always worth a try.

    Reminds of the the OG xbox, which was extremely picky about what USB drives you could use.

    Are you self hosting or using the online version?

    Try self hosting. It seems most people who have issues are those using the online version.

    My ps3 still won't turn on after a failed exploit install, 1 press red, 2nd press green then immediately switches off, safe mode doesn't seem to work. So did I full brick?

    The release zip comes with everything you need to self host. Take everything except miniweb.exe and the folder with the flsh.hex, and place them inside a folder name "htdocs". Then just run miniweb.exe as admin and in the ps3 web browser simply connect to address that shows up as "Host: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx" (excluding "host: ")

    Once you connect you'll see a page that lists files, click either the one that starts with "nor" or "nand" depending on which one you need. Then it loads the correct exploit page.

    Now does this host the exploit or the cfw, and how likely is this to help my issue?

    You don't host CFW. It hosts the exploit page that you were loading online. Which means its less likely any failures will crop up due to internet problems. It makes it far more likely to succeed from my reading in multiple forums. It may not fix your problem, but it's worth a shot since it isn't working right now, isn't it?

    They say it's supposed to work if your system's min version is less than 3.56, check with MinVerChk.

    Oh! I thought my system had to be at version 3.56. I'll check right away.

    I know it's supposed to be picky about which USB port holds the flash drive, could it be possible that my use of the other port (via either my 3rd party PS3 control's receiver or the USB cord for my PS4 controller) is interfering and preventing the exploit from taking hold?

    I was using a mayflash 3-in-1 magic joy box with a ps2 controller plugged in. I occasionally had to unplug both items and replug them to get the USB drive to be detected by the system. It's very possible that one device is interfering with the other based on that.
