So a Super Slim PS3 I got off eBAY came in today. Hasn't been opened before. (Well it has now.) The guy basically stabbed the top in a fit of rage I assume, but it's just cosmetic. I'll post a picture below.

Now I opened it up and there was this terrible looking blueish thermal paste on the CPU/GPU chip, so I wiped it off and applied some AS5. Put it semi back together, and the PS3 still turns on. Goes like this;

Red Light->Push button->Green light pops on->Two seconds later it shuts off.

The time the green light is on varies, sometimes it's two seconds other times about 6 seconds. Anyone got any tips on how to fix this PS3? I'm thinking it's the power supply, but I don't know if there's a fix for it nor where to buy a replacement one for a Slim PS3.

Thanks.

Sometimes it is bad soldering on either CPU or GPU. Simple reflow won't work on them, you need to find someone with machinery to redo BGA soldering.
