what has been hacked on the ps3? play backups? emus?

i got in an arguement with a buddy cuz he said that he can get a program to make the bluray games be able to be burn on to regular dvds and played on the ps3, i kept tellin him its not possible but he insisted it is. so i decided to check here to see whats all actually possible on the ps3
