PS1/2 PS2 SCPH-70012 & Castlevania SOTN

My old PS2 Phat died a month ago. My brother gave me his PS2 Slim(Console SCPH-70012, Driver 1.11). But when I tried to play Castlevania Symphony of the Night, Greatest Hits Edition something weird happens. When I put it in the console the disc will load, the Playstation screen with display, play the jingle and then stay there forever, never loading the game itself. When I go to browser it shows a Playstion disc and I can either press X to enter the game (and I get the above mentioned frozen screen) or press triangle to play it as a CD (a Hidden track). My PS2 plays the hidden audio track but it won't boot the game. Any suggestions?

Is it one of those blue disc? cause i've heard some slims might not play those or atleast thats what I heard...

It's a PSOne game.

But yeah, your laser may not be picking up CDs correctly. Try another PSOne or PS2 CD game and see if that works.

I think there are 2 modes to load PSX games on a PS2.
Go to the PS2 settings and change them(to FAST)

we tried other psone and ps2 games and they work fine. Only this game have problems. Changed to fast but got same error.

It seems there is not fix for that.
The only thing is to try using Texture Smoothing/Fast Loading but that didn't help.
