Do all SATA adapters and SATA HDDs/SSDs/SSHDs (especially 2 TB ones) work on the official Network Adaptor?

EDIT 2: It seems the official Network Adaptor (which is IDE) has to be converted to SATA to recognize SATA HDDs/SSDs/SSHDs, Bitfunx's SATA adapter is compatible with it and there's a HDD/SSD/SSHD compatibility list for the PS2.
