PS1/2 PS2 games off USB Stick?

Alright, I have finally gotten my PS2 soft modded all thanks to gisel213

Thanks again! Now I'm wondering if I can run PS2 games off a USB stick? The Wii can do it pretty easily, so I was wondering if this intricate black box could?

Also, I have DVD+R discs, would those work in the PS2? Thanks everyone

EDIT: And one more side question. I have been burning a DVD+R with imgburn and it's been working, but has been at the Disk Finalising stage for like half an hour

Is it supposed to do that? If it helps any I'm using Maxell discs.

Yes you can run games from USB stick "BUT" you will need to rip the iso to your HDD then use USBExtreme.exe or USBInsane.exe

I hear HDD a lot. Is it Hard Drive something? And that's the PS2's internal memory, correct? Or would I have to buy it a separate Hard Drive?

Use your computers Hard drive to dump too 1st then transfer the game to your Fat32 formatted USB stick

Okay, I'm a bit confused. I take the entire ul folder in the PS2 and copy it onto my stick? And then I got lost :l

And this imgburn has been pissing me off. Most of my discs it will just keep saying some error saying it has to rewrite cuz of space or something (unused discs) and this is the first to actually burn completely, and it won't leave the finalising screen D:

You could have a problem with your Burner or the disks are sh8t. Buy some DVD-R disks and see if you have same problem .
Ok step by step
1. Place PS2 disc in dvd drive .Use USBExtreme.exe to rip PS2 game to root directory of your Hard drive .
2.Drag and drop those files to the root directory of your USB stick
3. Run Usbadvance on you PS2 place USB into slot and wait for it to show

What if you only have the ISO? Cuz USBadvance ain't reading it :l

Usbinsane will convert iso file to ul file for you

you need to mount the iso with daemon tools or similar to put the iso on the hdd

I'm familiar with Daemon Tools, but how would I put it on my USB Stick just by mounting the image?

OK Usbinsane is here http://sksapps.com/index.php?page=hd.html look down the list you will find it USE it to convert your ISO too UL file.You need to select a Hard drive for the files to be saved too
DRAG THOSE FILES that USBINSANE HAS made to the root of your USB stick

*sigh* Sorry for being difficult. It finally got working

But it's running real slow... Or it just stops here.

Is there a compatibility issue list somewhere floating around, cuz Disgaea just froze at the Now Loading screen.

EDIT: Also, when I made those files out of the ISO, did I need to put the pagefile and hiberfil in the USB stick as well? Because those wouldn't move.

You can try to load the games with Open PS2 Loader too. When reading from usb, it might be faster than the loader you are using now and it uses the same data format(for usb).

No point of even running games off the USB Stick. Unless its some emulators.

The USBadvance program has like 10% compatibility list with games. Plus if the games will work than you will have to wait a long time for them to load since the PS2 USB slots are 1.1. So the games are going to be running really slow.

Hm, I haven't experienced anything bad while playing .hack//G.U. except the lag during cutscenes.

EDIT: For some reason, I've been using Open PS2 Loader, my .hack game won't play anymore. I will just freeze at a white screen. Is it cuz I have different settings? Is there some page that shows specific settings for games through Open PS2 Loader?
