Hacking PS1 Region free?

Does anyone know how to get PS1 running without region restrictions on a Slim PS3. Also Im on 4.11 because i was an idiot and updated, what ways can I go back to 3.55 or whatever firmware we have thats jailbreakable

Costs a bit though and doesn't work on all the slims afaik

Not sure if swapmagic works in the recent firmwares or if it works with PS1 games but you'll have to dismantle it
Alternatively, get a PS1 cheat cd, don't select any cheats and and swap the disc without pressing eject (though you'll still need to open your PS3)
Not sure if that works either but it did on the PS1/2
