Syphon Filter, one of the PS1 classics
confirmed to be coming to the new PlayStation Plus, has been confirmed to be getting trophy support on the new service. A Tweet from Bend Studio, developer behind the series, has shown off two of the new trophies, including a platinum. While no other games have been confirmed to be getting trophy support, it's unlikely that
Syphon Filter will be the only one. However, the other enhancements coming to the PS1 classics, like enhanced resolution and framerates, have only been said to be coming to "some" of the titles, so it's unlikely trophy support will be universal either. It's also worth noting that
Syphon Filter's developer, Bend Studio, is a first-party developer for Sony and so trophy support may be emphasized moreso by first-party studios.
Speaking of the
Syphon Filter series,
according to Gematsu, four classic games from that series, including the original, were rated by the Korean Ratings Boards at the end of April, all set to release on PS4 and PS5. With only the first game in the series announced to be on PS Plus so far, it's likely we'll be seeing the other three games -
Syphon Filter 2,
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, and
Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow - announced soon, especially given that the announcement we've had was only for "some" of the games coming to the new PS Plus in the launch window.
