I looked at 4 different cheap ones that people rated 5 stars and just picked a blue one. I thought how bad can it be anyway like it was only 23 euro including post and anything is better than the one I have now except a cracked one lol.

Thanks for all the suggestions, that seems like it was the logical thing to do. I would like to have firmware 3.60 but tbh there's only a few games I like anyway so nothing wrong with supporting the developers and I have a psp if I want to run homebrew and emulators.

The back of my vita is also scratched to bits but I won't be looking at that it's the screen that bothers me. There's an example of what I'm talking about, it just annoys me and I can't stop focusing on it instead if a game. Others probably wouldn't mind but it really bothers me and there's a few of them on it. Right in the centre there's another little one of them too.

Edit: There's actually 4 of them in that picture :D

I totally get you. I actually replaced my screen for the same reason. There was a horizontal scratch near the bottom right of my screen that drove me insane. I decided to just buy a new screen.

It could take a month to get the replacement but at least it's still working. The rear touch pads don't seem to cost much either but as I said I'll only be looking at the screen when I'm using it. I want to play the Rayman games on it. I just assumed they would be bad ports like the 3ds version then tried the demo of origins and decided I'll buy it then probably legends eventually because they're really good games especially to be on a handheld.

That's what had me looking at the scratches lol I'll be playing sidescrollers with bright colours and just looking at them :D

Edit: I don't even mean so much of a bad port on 3ds either just it's 30fps instead of 60 and still stutters and looks really low res. Obviously just hardware limitations. On the vita it frameskips a bit but it's very playable and actually still looks incredible for 540p

OP I assume you don't really like screen protector too much. If you are good with taking electronics apart and putting them together, then you can swap the motherboard around.
I should've had a screen protector but it happened years ago. I got another vita and was lucky enough for it to be on firmware 1.69 so I could hack it then I replaced the screen in the other one too. I have to get screen protectors before I damage them but they're safe in cases for now.
