Seems like a decent build, but remember a few months is a lot in the PC market, by then prices will have dropped - especially on the CPU what with quad cores coming down in price. Also by then Crysis will finally be out so you'll may want to consider a DX10 compatible graphics card like the 8800 (remember they will be cheaper in a few months!)

If you want to save a bit you could always buy a graphics card second hand from ebay - since gamers are always updating their rigs you can find some nice bargains on there. A few months back I bought a 512MB 7950GT OC on there for £100 (they retailed for £150-160 at the time).

Also keep an eye out on sites like hotukdeals.com - they list good deals on products ~ I picked up a 20" HP monitor (L2045W) a few months back for £125 (RRP £175-190) as HP were offering a £50 rebate at the time.

Personally I would lose the cooler and splash out a bit more on the case - a PC deserves a good case, especially if you plan to overclock. I have a Antec Nine Hundred and I can honestly say it was worth every penny. I have an E6300 overclocked from 1.86 to 3Ghz and it's running at 40°C on stock cooling with case fans on their lowest speed.

Exactly like that. Plenty of room, comes with 2 blue LED fans and 3 light up gauges (Decibel, temp, and fan speed). It's a lot cheaper in US stores though :/ . Removable mobo tray, window...It's just a great case

Yeah, you're right, it's very nice for the price. But, remember, DX10 is cumming (uuhhhyeeaah!!) and you probably should wait.

RAM, as I said it will work but you will likely not be able to push it too far if you overclock it.

Graphics, I still contend DX10 is worthless for now. Prices drop rapidly as well. Maybe a card in the 7950GT range.

Sound: you have 7.1 surround sound onboard.

Keyboard, mouse:
I hate natural keyboards and "gaming" keyboards feel a bit odd (pretty good though).
Mouse: something laser based, try and hold it beforehand as each persons hand is different.
Wireless: do not do it unless you really really need it and a USB/PS2 extension will not suffice. Signal problems can really do in your head and batteries always die at 2am on Sunday night/monday morning it seems.

I think I should drop this for the time being and start to re-design when I have the money or when I nearly have it as like some people have already said, the PC world changes a lot in a few months.

Thanks for everyone's help anyway, but this isn't the right time for me to discuss this

If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction

  • x65943 @ x65943:
You either need to be intubated to bypass obstruction or create a stoma inferior to the the area of obstruction to survive
