Hacking Proper method for updating newer versions of homebrew

For instance, if I already have pkgj installed, how do I update to newer versions? Is it simply a matter of copying the new files directly over the old ones in the app data folder?

You could do that if you wanted to, but the normal way is to just install the VPK for the newer version.

And it'll just overwrite the old version? Meaning you don-t need to uninstall the old version first?
