I recently softmodded the wii and I installed the Gamecube Backup Loader. I had some problems getting it to work initially (wrong cIOS) but i managed to get Super Mario Sunshine to open. The problem is, once it opens and gets past the nintendo and dolby logo, it freezes, the disk spins noisily, and a screen comes up telling to "restart the gamecube and consult the information booklet for more details". The Wii is PAL as is the game, my firmware is 3.2E, and my cIOS is up to date. I have searched on this site to see if any one has had the same problem, but i could not find any. Does anyone know a solution? [IMG]

This happened with me on Metroid Prime 2. Make sure you have DVD-R's (not RW or +R's) and make the write speed 2x and that's what fixed it for me.

I did burn it to a DVD-R, but I was doing it at 16X speed. [IMG] I'll have to try making a new copy tomorrow, thanks! [IMG]

I always burn at 16x and have no problems. You have to test it out what works for you but you can't say that 2x is the best for everyone.

I always use 4x speed. I also use cIOSCORP 3.3. I would recommend that.

I reburnt it at 4X speed and it came out perfectly! [IMG] One question though, is there anyway of saving without using a GC Memory Card?

Nope, the Wii effectively becomes a GC when playing GC games. No access to the NAND.
