I have tried 3 versions of the game, two NTSC ISO's, and one PAL ISO.

Each time I got the following error:
    "wbfs panic: malloc fst"

    - Wii freezes, have to turn it off by holding the power button on the Wii.
    - Changing game options freezes CFG loader too.

Never seen this error, and haven't found much about it using google. Any ideas?

    I have a 3.4E Wii,
    using IOS 222 version 5,
    Configurable USB loader.

Use a Wii Backup Manager to strip out all the NON Game partitons from the ISO.

Wii BackupManager can do this for sure.

    Then it will work.

    Have had the same issue.

Can you check your ISO to see if it has more than just the 'game' (G) partition?
PS: Am also using CFG USB Loader.

It does it automatically right? Because when I transfer the game (as a .wbfs file) to the external hard drive it's always smaller.

Well, yesterday, I played and the game froze many times and a message saying something like this:
"An error has occurred. Press eject button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii Console off and refer to the wii operations manual for help troubleshooting ..." appeared.

Only way to exit was to remove the power cable from my wii...
    Anyone got that problem?

    P.S.
It can not be a bad dvd, since I downloaded the game and stored it right away in my HD...

    what settings do you use?
btw, no power cabling, just powerbutton 5 secs - saves a lot of time and cursing.

    It did not work.
The wii motes were turned on. The wii, simply stopped working and showed that message (curious thing is that it used the same fonts the game uses)...

    Changed nothing in settings...
