Hello

Since I bought a Bluetooth Keyboard and a Bluetooth Mouse, I experience a very frustrating problem.
Whenever I reboot my PC, my keyboard and my mouse are no longer connected to my PC. I always have to reconnect my old keyboard and mice to enter my windows password
Also, when I arrive on my desktop, my bluetooth device are also not recognized by my bluetooth manager. I have to pair both of them again
And finally, pairing these two device is ALWAYS problematic.
When I want to pair my keyboard, for exemple, I hold the bluetooth connection button until it begins to flash, then I go in my PC's bluetooth manager, and click on my keyboard. But right when I do that step, my keyboard led stop flashing and the bluetooth manager will send me an error message about 10 seconds later.
I have the exact same problem with my mouse. I have to pair them multiple times and hope that they finally pair up correctly

Is there a problem to fix that shit up please, because it's really pissing me off
Thanks

  1. In Bios, did you check if there's any options selected for saving energy active?
  2. What version of BT does your perhephials are?
  3. What version of BT module does your pc have?
  4. What version of windows do you use?
  5. In windows device manager, did you check if there's any options selected for saving energy active?
  6. In energy settings, did you check if there's any options selected for saving energy active?
  7. Is your power supply powerfull enough for your HW?

1. No, I didn't check.
2. 4.2
3. 5.3
4. Windows 11
5. I don't see any option like that in my device manager (where exactly should I look)
6. I'm in performance mode
7. Yes (well, I never had any problem afaik, what kind of problem should I issue if it wasn't the case?)

I'll restart my computer later and see at that moment for point #1

  1. Go check, for it might be active.
  2. Seems alright.
  3. Seems alright.
  4. Seems alright.

  6. Go for advanced options for there's far more to tweak.
  7. Random problems like failing peripherals, windows not booting at al, screen flickering.

Sorry for the (kinda) late reply

So, for #1, it was already disabled

for #5, I unchecked the box
for #6, I set the "selective suspension" to deactivated
for #7, my PSU is powerful enough afaik

This is a rather common problem with Bluetooth peripherals, and you may not be able to do much with it on the PC side. Many of them have their own power saving features that can't be disabled, and I imagine as part of that, this keyboard is rolling its pairing code each time it loses connectivity. I have this same problem with a cheapo I bought for a tablet. My advice would be to either go wired, or look for a 2.4g alternative.

Well damn, I bought bluetooth keyboard/mouse exactly because I wanted to get rid of the 2.4GHz connectivity (poor range, two dongles instead of one)

Two dongles? I'm sure something exists with only one. To be frank, though, I went wired around a year ago after using some form of wireless for several years, and haven't looked back. I picked up an Apex 5 and a Rival 600 as part of an Amazon deal, and they've been wonderful to use. I think I only spent around $100, which ain't bad for what you get.

yea well, I usually play on my couch, on my big tv, and for that, I need my keyboard and my mouse to be able to reach my computer (about 3-4 meter away). I could use a really long wire, but let's say that Nova (the kitty in my PFP) will take this long wire as a toy and chew it with lot of joy. That's why I went for bluetooth, because when I was doing this, with the 2.4GHz connection, my mouse would lose signal way too often (moving my mouse would not do anything, or be super slow, or just lag the f**k out all the time).

I had to change my USB Bluetooth dongle for that exactly reason, the new one (4 years now) a generic 5.1 form aliexpress worked like a charm, now I only uses Bluetooth keyboard and mouse Even they are Artek multi-device so I change between my PC and my Laptop with press a button.

That sounds like an issue with the dongle rather than the protocol. I have a HyperX III headset and an 8BitDo Ultimate, which both use a 2.4 dongle. I can take either to the other side of my house, and they still work perfectly fine. There's also the possibility that you have something creating interference, and if you have the dongle in the back of your PC, it might fair better on the front/top. I have to do this for my headset, otherwise it will lose connectivity once I walk out of the room. It's rare, but it'll even drop out at times when I'm in my chair.

2.4 Ghz is only for very short distance, and as is a open frequency the RF noise is insane, Bluetooth uses correction and more robust communication.

That's what I though, especially with wifi that uses the same frequency. I also live in an appartment complex and I can tell you they all have wifi (yes, I can detect most of them with my smartphone)

I'm just speaking from experience. It's given me considerably more stability than Bluetooth ever did.

Sorry, radio?? what do you mean?
The radio in the dongle.
