Hacking Problem loading Mario Kart DS save

I backed up my save for mario kart ds because my cousin was going to North America for a holiday and didnt have any good games and now i want to play it on my r4ds so i converted the save from .gds to .sav for r4 using shuny's excellent save game converter and when i run the the game on my r4 it just starts a new game.
by the way i have
*Downloaded another rom from another site just in case it was corrupted
*Downloaded a game save for mario kart from gbatemp and converted and used without any issues
*Tried to get my save working with no$gba i dont know what settings to use

Just because you have downloaded another rom from another site it doesn't mean you have a 100% verified rom.

You need to use clrMAMEpro and use the latest DAT from ADVANsCEne. By using this method you can be assured your roms are ALWAYS 100% and should work and if they don't then you need check firmware updates or potential microSD problems.

You need to check ALL your roms using this method. Its good practice to see if your NDS collection is perfect or not.
