I have preloader, but i cant get hacks installed (sd card doesnt read).
so my question is:

is a preloader still useful or can i get it removed?
does it gives me any brick protection or not ?

You can remove it by installing a system menu wad of whatever system menu you have. (I have 3.2, so I'd just install that wad)

Then you can run the hack remover to remove the hacks.ini that's in the flash.

However, for me, preloader is better than bootmii. Now yes, I'm aware that bootmii installs to boot2, but I'm one of the 10% that cannot install it there, only as an IOS. Personally, preloader has saved me from several banner bricks.

And with hacks on mine, it makes it that much better. Region free, disc channel moving, copying protected saves, disabling warning screen, I could go on.

I'd have to disagree there. If I banner brick, for instance, and have bootmii as an IOS, it wouldn't help me at all. You need to have something made to specifically load bootmii, something that new homebrew channel versions can do.

If I had preloader in that same instance, I could start the homebrew channel and begin recovery just by holding reset to go to the preloader menu.

I do agree that bootmii is better when you can have a boot2 install, but for someone that can only install it as an IOS, I can't say it's as useful as preloader at this time.

I'm supper cool I have BootMii installed on Boot2 and Pre Loader installed.

You need to get a hacks.ini file of your own if you want more options.

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader/hacks

^That page is where I got my 3.2 hacks, but it has more than just 3.2. I'd recommend you check there for a good hacks.ini.

No problem. I was confused for the longest time with preloader hacks, so I'm happy to help others avoid the same confusion I was in.
