As some of you may know, I was working on porting the Preloader codes over to 4.2. I ported them to 4.2U, tested them (and so did many of you
tongue.gif
), then once they were stable, I ported them to the other regions. I just finished porting over the hacks to 4.2E and 4.2J. So without further ado, here's the codes:

If you're wondering what's up with the "Lock System Menu with Black Screen" code, it's for locking down your Wii, so you can't boot it without turning off the code in Preloader. You can think of it like a password, in a way. According to Wiibrew, the code is useful for locking your Wii "so the kids and family can't break it!" Hopefully this will answer the numerous questions about this code
smile.gif

The "No System Menu Sounds at all" codes disables all system menu sounds NOT banner sounds. As a result, when you zoom in on a channel and the music starts playing, you can zoom out and the music will keep playing. This is due to there being no "mute" command since the menu sound commands are overall disabled. Although some may consider it a bug (that was in the previous versions as well), I think it's a pretty cool easter egg

By the way, I did not technically make these codes. I simply ported and enhanced a few of them to make them work on 4.2.

Special Thanks:
phpgeek - He ported the majority of the 4.2E codes. Thanks dude!

All 4.2U Testers - Thanks for the feedback guys!

Update: I just uploaded the fixed values for 4.2E and ported the "Block Online Updates," "No System Menu Sounds (Channel BGM)," and "Replace Health Screen with Backmenu" codes.
The hacks.ini has been updated as well!

yea but theres no really no point in my opinion, just another way to launch homebrew.

could save you tho just to have the save installed.

edit: i think some themes have to be ported to 4.2 still no?

Not exactly. It disables the check upon boot. Nothing more (meaning that the checks in the copying subroutines still exist). I'm sure it's probably possible to get the Twilight Hack onto a Wii with this turned on though. Maybe through Waninkoko's SaveGame Installer or something....

@xexero
With mym files, theme porting is almost unnecessary, unless the Wii's GUI is updated in some fashion (like it was on 4.0). With 4.2, it wasn't. Even when the GUI is updated, mym files still work just fine (so you can apply a 3.2 mym theme on a 4.2 Wii).

@madridi4ever
Yep, there were three more. With all of the new security that is placed in 4.2, I felt that it was necessary to go through a phase of testing before officially releasing the codes. As a result of the testing, I found that the region free security needs to be recracked
huh.gif
. The non-working codes were "Error could not load channel," "Force Disc Region to Wii Region," and "Region Free Wii Games." Every other code that was tested seemed to work as it should.

Thanks very much for the hard work and all the ports, mariomaniac33!

Hope these get cracked soon, "Force Disc Region to Wii Region," and "Region Free Wii Games."

Arigato Gozaimashita! ??????????????

Cheers!

Tried but now, preloader is blocking wii.
I power up the Wii, pass bootmii and then just after preloader, it hangs !
I still can enter preloader menu but no more system menu.
What's wrong then ?
Must I change "ios system menu option" in preloader ?

The most common cause for this problem is.

1) You are using a SDHC card. Pre-loader will not load the hacks.ini from a SDHC card.

2) Wrong Hacks.ini file.

Lothlorian you are correct it was reason 1,sorted that out by putting hacks.ini on a old 1 gig micro now the problem for me is when the patches are used the wii cant boot to sys menu all that happens is a black screen (4.2E wani updater) I could go through each hack 1 by 1 but I dont really wana bother ill just wait for startpatch never had problems with that app, preloader its self installed fine patched IOS60,thankfully ive a nand of just before the preloader install so back to that the wii will go

QUOTE(Hans Gruber @ Oct 4 2009, 10:42 AM) The only 4.2e hack that works for me is the move disc channel one. Selecting the use IOS 249 hack, ejects my disc and the Wii hangs.
So you guys are having trouble with the 4.2E hacks? Dang...
huh.gif
I didn't port all of those, but I'll have to look into it if they don't work right.... is anyone else having any issues?

In the meantime, try testing each hack individually. Then see if you have any problems.

With regards to the 4.2E hacks, I ported most of these myself and I'm aware of a few issues. The problem is not with the porting of the hacks, they ported fine, it's just that most of these hacks no longer seem to work on the EU firmware. I'm currently looking into finding new entry points for the non-working hacks and digging a little deeper into the more advanced ones, such as forcing the disc as the wii region etc...
