When I start the Wii, with the reset button, I get into Preloader 0.29.
But how on earth can I start Bootmii, which I installed as IOS? I can only start it in the system menu, but then I cannot use the power eject and reste buttons to navigate.

I want to make an backup from the Nand only, or is there another great tool to use for this purpose?

I read something that it is also possible to do with preloader installed also, but how to start Bootmii? I have no GC controller....
I'm on systemmenu 4.0E

I thought also the buttons on the Wii can also be used for navigating in Bootmii? (reset, eject, etc.)

so what is the best way to do?

I already have systemmenu 4.0 (waninkoko's updater), and preloader installed. No backup NAND. Main goal: backup NAND. How can I do this?
I can use Bootmii but then I must have an GC controller?

Just keep chanting it. Like a mantra.

Yes, you have the right of it. As of beta2 BootMii isn't of much use to those who have to install it as an IOS. Give the developers a bit more time.
