Why don't we see video games "released" prior to actual shelf date? You see movies floating around weeks before actual premier/dvd release, why can't we get Mario Striker's early or Manhunt??

Someone has to have a connection!! ;-)

Well some games do appear before they appear in stores, mostly movie titles I don't think I've seen Wii games arrive earlier but meh as long as they get dumped who cares?

Stores themselves will get them no more than 5 days before the release date. (Or less if they are constant street date breaker offenders) So unless the contacts come from either Ninty themselves or reviewers (magazines and such), there aren't going to be super early releases.
