Okay, I am currently running DVD5 of SSBB perfectly fine on my US Wiikey. I thought this would be a good thread to share.

This is my media and burnprogram of choice:

Wiikey 1.9g (anything else would be stupid)
DVD-R (from traxdata)
Nero Burning Rom 8 at 4X speed

These settings have never DRE a single Wii game for me regardless of region.

post your settings that works fine

Wiikey 1.9g
Verbatim DVD-R
Imgburn @ 4x

Edit: Before switching to Verbatim recently, I was using Memorex DVD-R and it was the worst media I've ever used. Wii would read the disc 1 out of every 20 times I inserted it. Verbatims get detected every single time.

I can't tell for Memorex DVD-R, but I'm using Memorex DVD+R with ImgBurn @ 4X and wiikey 1.9g, and I've got perfect results. Sony DVD-R with the same settings also work great.

Wiikey 1.9g
DVD-R (Sony)
IMGBurn setting on MAX[disc sppede is 16x so I'm guessing bthats the max]

I see that most people here burn at slow speeds, is there reason for that, does it improve quality?

TDK 16x DVD-R (TTH02) runs Brawl single layer flawlessly, burned at 4x. Although it failed IMGBurn verification.

You are shitting me.

I am getting terrible results with this, half my burns don't work on mine.
Slightly different though, CompUSA DVD-R at all speeds. Do +Rs have a better success rate?
I've only had one burn so far out of the whole pack (which might have been my fault, I haven't tried it again yet), always burning at max (except for Brawl which I wanted to be a tad more careful with).

in my experience there has being only one very very bad type of dvd type and this is philips. Out of a pack of 50 more then half were coasters and a pack of 25 dvd dl all remain unusable. I do not know if its my dvd writer specific to the dvd type( i have two burners though including a brand new lg drive) or its just a software malfunction but the bottom line is philips dvd sux ass
