Aside from emulators, I'd like to see some neat apps like a Music Creator using a piano roll setup much like Mario Paint that allowed you to export a MIDI (if that'd even be possible).

While I know very little on the 3DS hardware, I feel like N64 still won't be possible (or if it is, the framerate would be poor), but I'd love to see an SNES emulator that will play SA-1 chip games (I'd love to play Mario RPG again). A good GBA emulator would be great as well. If N64 was possible and compatible with most of the library, that'd be a dream come true.

No kernel access (smealum wanted to prevent piracy)

Which I hope people will start to show a bit more respect for him and his decision now that it's being released soon. ;) Is that too much for us to ask for? Just some dignity when it comes to the two very different hacks, one for homebrew, one for ROMs? :P

not excactly a homebrew, in a long run i'd like to see cfw that'd add allow plugin apps that'd be usable while you play.
i.e. like when you open the notes.

it'd be awesome if you could open some sort of gamefaqs reader or shoutcast radio player as you play ;P

then again i doubt we will see stuff like that ;p

so for now, i'd love to see 3d dlna player and something for flashcards/edu that'd help me with japanese.
but once again i doubt we'll see that ;P

as for games. something like picross, i.e. some sort of game that uses griddlers websites as a base ;P

What's the advantage of having 3DS Homebrew instead of say, a cheap Android phone and getting FREE, great quality open software? With my Moto G I can stream from and to the PC, set up a free IP camera, play my computer games with Splashtop, have free GPS and navigation, group GPS maps, text editors, PDF viewers, video players, accelerometer apps and all the cool stuff that comes with the Internet.

Come on, be honest, what can you do with such a low power CPU as the one in the 3DS? You either want emulators, piracy or some dumb games you will play once and then forget. Remember when the DS had moonshell and all those cool note-keeping apps? They were nice because Android and iPhones didn't exist. If devs don't take advantage of the 3D screen, AR (which I sincerely doubt most devs would be capable of working with) or Streetpass I highly doubt there will be any real use for homebrew.

Please do rebuke me if you think I'm wrong. I would LOVE to see people make good use of the 3DS. Say, streetpass augmented reality games? hell yes

Ok apart from Textris 3D, I'd like a media player that supports 3D. That, mostly because the stock audio and video player sucks in general and only supports a few formats or is very restricted.

Virtual Boy Emulator and NES and MS-emulators that emulates the effects of the 3D-system and Scope 3D respectivly. Well every and any emulator imaginable would be great.

And I bet a pinball simulator using 3D effects would be pretty nice to have as well.

Kodi (formerly known as XBMC) or Plex. Or something homemade like WiiMC. 3D playback would be epic. Basically just a rock solid media center.

Other than that the obvious, emulators and fucking awesome original homebrews. I fucking love the homebrew scene.

I so suggest an region breaker, foreign E-Shop access and a way to apply live translation patches to games. imports for everyone!
