My brother-in-law recently bought a DSi and I want to make sure I recommend the flash cart that's going to stand the best chance to survive future firmware updates. He's already upgraded his DSi to version 1.4U firmware, but I've read a few tutorials for updating flash carts to get around that update.

My question is: What DSi flash cart would you all recommend? I was thinking either the Acekard 2i or EZVi, but I'm open to suggestions. The M3i Zero Sakura looked like a good pick, too.

On a side note, I have a CycloDS Evolution for my DS Lite and I

I expected to hear that most people recommend the Acekard 2i or EZVi, so this is good news. Between the two, what are the pros and cons? Or is there a third option I just haven't looked at yet?

EDIT: I had also taken notice of the M3i. Just wanted to throw that out there.

M3i Zero and the Ak2i are probably your best bets [IMG]

I don't know much about EZVi, but AK2i pros and cons:

    Pros: Updatable Bootloader
Unofficial Firmware (AKAIO) supports and bypasses many games that need piracy patches
Quick Bootloader updating, which should take around 30 seconds
Easy firmware to use and handle, with multiple and user made skins
    Use of various cheat files
    Really cheap price now!

Cons: Poor build quality, (shouldn't be a problem if you don't force the cart around)
    In frequent firmware updates
The approach of clones may be on the horizon...

I couldn't see anything wrong with the EZVi, so I'm glad that you said that. I'll definitely keep it in the running.

I'll be having the M3i Zero sometime next week so I'll test it out. no problems with Acekard 2i on my part even with AKAIO 1.5. You'll be faced with many acekard 2i clones so beware. EZ5i is also nice with the current build. for safe keeping, get a M3i Zero if you can.

    Those are my 3 choices.
