hahahahaha holy shit this thread. Genius, cant believe the solution was this simple. Why didnt anyone think of it before?
Ehh, not really sure why people are thinking this is some done deal that it's working and stuff but let me clarify: this is NOT working and probably will not ever work, the new3ds uses a (slightly) different CPU so the base operating systems also differ in the way they're compiled... That most likely means the higher clock speed or number of cores will probably case a kernel panic upon attempted boot even if you somehow managed to get everything replaced... Even if it did boot it really wouldn't be all that advantageous, you'd lose a lot of power behind the n3ds along with amiibo support, possibly the added circle pad pro buttons (you might not, but I'm pretty sure its a big possibility as things are a little different on this front between the n3ds and o3ds) among other things that might go wrong/you might lose, at this point if you REALLY have to have the latest firmware then just go get yourself an o3ds or an n3ds on a firmware you can't hack
