Hacking Possible USB port 0 defect?

I just bought this new Wii (Red), and successfully installed what was needed from the ModMii installer. I installed the latest CFG usb loader to HBC, and it just keeps timing me out. Left port works fine since my USB stick (OCZ 16GB Rally2) lights up but the right port (near edge) never lights up. I tried the drive plus my 120 GB WD passport and it's still no go. Is there something I missed? I really can't figure out why the port don't work at all, it makes zero sense since console defects like this is rare. There has to be an explanation why the port won't work.

ciosx 249 rev21 base 58 supports port 1 too, try that.
