To patch a specific DOL you'd just go into the games settings and set Alternate DOL to List on game launch. Then the games will be patched correctly and they'll boot quicker.

It's just a few clicks and it would make a lot simpler and quicker to apply until USBloadergx can do it automatically.
The loader can only patch the DOL file that's loaded into memory.

My next modmii update can do this, currently still in beta. Shouldn't be too too much longer though

Edit: if you wanna beta test lmk....
I'd be happy to help with the beta test if it's not too much of a time commitment!

So then it's impossible for a usb loader to remove the deflicker filter from metroid prime trilogy bc the other dols are not in memory yet?

If you configure the game like I suggested then you can select the DOL file and it'll be patched correctly.

rs5mp1_p.dol = Metroid Prime
rs5mp2_p.dol = Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
rs5mp3_p.dol = Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

I tried that, but it just loads the save file for the first slot. I could move the save files around, but then others won't be able to play thier files. Also, I can't access multiplayer.

Yeah. That's the catch with these 3 games and the way they've been bundled together.

If you want to access saves from other profiles and multiplayer then you'll need to modify your WBFS/ISO file to disable the deflicker filter in all of the DOL files.

It's not over yet -- stay tuned :)

The patching tool was either going to give you a [ID6].dol to launch separately with ULGX, or make you a patched copy of your original iso/wbfs, so you could always revert to your originals. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to also add an 'unpatch me' option as well.

This article shows the brightness control in Metroid and menu screen fades in Soul Calibur not working when GXSetCopyFilter is disabled
https://ppltoast.wordpress.com/2018/05/11/a-small-look-into-the-gamecubes-copy-filter/

Not a dealbreaker for me personally -- I'd still rather not have the filter -- but enough to preference the vfilter patching method as the default method, and revert to patching GXSetCopyFilter as a last resort.
Sorry for this old reply but do you still have this unfiltermii tool ? Thanks.

Hey, sorry for waking un this thread, but lately i've been on a GameCube binge, playing both Monkey Ball games and a few others. I decided to play again Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, and at first I did not notice it (mostly because the last time I played it is probably around 2011) but after getting a bit suspicious (specially since it looked a heck of a lot blurrier than the Monkey Ball games mentioned before) and...

It's one of those games like Soul Calibur 2 and R: Racing Evolution where Nintendont cannot remove the Deflicker filter by itself.

I leave a couple of shots between before and after. The difference as usual is quite staggering If I may put it that way.

Deflicker Off:

You can open them up in different tabs and swap for easier comparison, as I always said in this thread.

May sound silly but finding all this about these filters and how to remove them still brings me joy and I'm glad for it every time I touch my Wii.

...Maybe not the best way to phrase that last part.
I found a gecko code that disables it, but I haven't personally tested it to confirm it. It's only for the PAL version.
