Yes you can, I used this method to downgrade from 10.5 and works. The firm.bin of the cia file is the firm installed in the firm partition, you can check it extracting and decrypting your actual firm0 and comparing it with the firm.bin of your actual firmware, the firm0 partition have more data but dont need to be replaced

You successfully downgraded? Did that worked? Can you post the method and the files for the Process? It will be a Great help.

10.2.0.28u and 10.3.0.28u have the same firmware revision in them , which is shown by the suffix '.28u' . This is also why the process to anything post 10.2.0.28u homebrew-wise is the exact same procedure on 10.4.0.30u or 10.5.0.30u- both have the '.30u' suffix, indicating it has the same firmware.

I thought the suffix just stands for the browser version?

According to Wikipedia, that is what it means so I'm not sure what they are talking about lol

The nomenclature of a firmware version, as it's shown on the 3DS System Settings, is divided into three parts: the first three digits represent the firmware version without eShop features (which is the one stored on retail cartridges); the number after the dash represents improvements related to the eShop and can only be obtained via online update; and finally, the letter at the end represents the region of the console. The possible letters are for China (C), Europe and Australia (E), Japan (J), South Korea (K), Taiwan (T), and the Americas (U) which are the six regions with exclusive firmwares for each one.

Ok, I'll try but my level of English is not the best.

You need to download the 10.4 native_firm cia using 3dnus the title id is 0004013800000002 or 0004013820000002 for New3DS and the version 23341 download it and rename the file to firmoriginal.cia, download the 10.2 native_firm cia the titleid is the same as before but the version is 22313 rename it to firmnuevo.cia put the cias in a folder called Decrypt9 in the root of the SDCard of your 3DS. Run Decrypt9 and use the option "Cia Decryptor (deep)" in "Game Decryptor Option" after that put the 2 cias and your nand.bin (make a copy first) in the same folder with my bat and run it. After that flash the modified nand.bin to the 3DS

You can use Decrypt9 to dump the FIRM0/1 partitions. However, you have to acquire the decrypted FIRM0/FIRM1 for 10.4/5, which you can't do with Decrypt9. You'll have to extract it from the FIRM title.

I already thought of trying this on my NAND-modded 3DS's, but I've been lazy.

Whether it works will depend on whether any of the critical system titles are flagged to require the 10.4 kernel.

Every system title still works even with the 9.6 kernel :P

Currently trying the bat file, on my emuNAND. Will post if it goes well.

It will not work, the native_firm partition in the emunand is not updated when you update it then the native_firm of your emunand is the native_firm of the version of your sysnand when you create it. You can use the bat but you need the correct cia of the native_firm.

@Raugo Can you upload me your 10.3 Nand.bin?

For what you need it?

when i run Decrypt9 in my 3ds he wont start and back to hbl ih have o3ds 10.5e

For the Decrypt9 process you need another 3DS with 9.2 firmware or lower
