Possable Flash0 6.20 Fix for 5.50
Discuss.

Well, currently, I have the only Reply on there, and I can't figure out how to use it.
ryuken11221 hasn't posted yet where this has come from besides saying that it's from Magixien, and has basically only given the link.

I guess he wants us to test it, but we can't without figuring out how to use it, right? Any ideas? I was thinking that we should just place the files on the Flash0 while running 5.50 GEN-D3.

Yeah... Care to share with us how you're doing that?

Uh yeah sure. BTW: Long time no see. (If you've forgotten I was on the KH:BBS dev team in the IRC.)

If you go to the PSP recovery menu, and go to advance. You'll see Toggle USB Flash0. Have your PSP plugged into your computer, and press X. When you go to your PSP's Letter Drive, you'll see a whole bunch of files. Delete them all, and replace them with the downloaded ones.

There may be other ways, but this is how I did it. I see no difference.

Wait, so by this process, a PSP 3000 could convert back to OFW 5.50?

Ok, thanks. I didn't even remember you at first!
Did you try Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep yet?
And a little dumb move:

You should've backed up all of your files before hand.

This does not appear to be phat friendly, just a warning to those that might want to try this. I am sure with a pandora your fine, but the files are too big to fit in the flash0 of the phat.

Wait, then how'd Sora1234 get his files in?

The posted files are around 39megs of stuff, the psp phat only has around 24 megs available in flash0...at least if you boot into the recovery menu and toggle flash0 that is all that is showing on my unit.

I took a look into the posted pack, and there are some skype plugins and others that I do not have in the standard gen d-3 for phats. I would therefore assume this is for 2k's or higher....and maybe with some file manipulation it'll work for phats as well.

I'll look into thining out the .zip a little, and then I'll upload it to Nakido for all.

Awesome, I was also attempting to thin out the files a bit, but I'm no expert. Just making sure my pandora is charged atm. 8)

i still dont understand the point of this, can someone fill me in?
at the moment the highest CFW version is 5.5

sony is at 6.2

this is a problem for some games.

this thingy here might make them work.

So basically it flashes ur firmware back to 5.5, allowing u to install CFW? INGENIOUS! Only problem is that the PSP 3000 has a fool proof system, doesnt it? Wouldnt this cause a PSP 3000 to brick?

Yup, I'm going to wait for the "thingy" creater to fill us in how to install these 6.20 plugins correctly without bricking.

nononononono

this allows 5.5 firmware users (not late 2000/3000 users) to play 6.2 games.
