    Hey,

For those who aren't familiar with OpenRCT, it's an open source reimplementation of Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 that uses assets from the original game while providing all new code. It is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Would it be possible for this to be ported to the Nintendo switch?

Currently not, because it's heavily based on OpenGL.

If we get graphics drivers and hardware acceleration working, would it be feasibly possible?

Totally possible, but it's a huge project and would involve a lot of work.

The openGL part is optional, there's software rendering too.

Absolutely! We already have the first puzzle piece: SDL2. Now we only need graphics driver.

Ah, man. I would so love to have RCT2 on the Switch. Would be such a great fit for it and I would play non-stop.
    Indeed! I love his work!

I also started looking into this yesterday after reading about SDL2. I think the switch might actually be my jumpstart into the homebrew dev world. Definitely not with this though lol.

So glad to see someone else thinking about this though!

    Hi, OpenRCT2 dev here.
No, we do not require OpenGL, you can disable it at compile time. All the rendering is done single-threaded in software. WereW working on improving that, contributions welcome.
There have already been ports to other hw (including ps vita, Wii and I think 3ds), much less capable than switch.
Please refer to https: //github com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/wiki/Building-OpenRCT2-on-Linux to find what is required (and what is optional).
