I bought the Valve pack off steam that included Portal 2, now waiting for it to download >>

Anyone who has played the game, single or multi player, care to offer any praise/criticism?

Thanks,
Pixl

Good game, feels more fun because you have other characters this time.
Co op was fun but if you get partnered with a simpleton (like me) you got to explain everything to do.

Shame it didn't run well when portal 1 runs perfect :/

It was the best game I've ever played.
Both single and co op.
Though that's a personal opinion.
Still, I don't know of anybody who has thought poorly of it.
If you have a pretty good PC it should run fine, too, I haven't experienced problems.

Hello. Hello. Hell-awww crap...

I played it on the 360 and yeah, one of the best games I've ever played in a LONG time. Really refreshing. I've yet to try co-op as I'm waiting for my friend to finish single. He hasn't played Portal so I'll wait for him until he at least finishes adequate testing. Gonna play single 2 times: one for achievement hunting and the dev commentary.

Oh, can you get achievements while in Dev Commentary mode?

It's just a giant gay bathhouse simulator. Fucking robot homosexuals who have phallic glory hole shooting guns. It's A HOMOSEXUAL RECRUITMENT TOOL (LAWLZ that reference)

seriously though, it was amazing. I loved every second of it. Kept me laughing, crying, puzzled, and amazed all the way from beginning to end.

Got 20 hours play time and still have 5 chapters of coop left. Running through the story again too.

I was thoroughly unimpressed.
The plot is essentially a carbon copy of the first, with names changed. The mid part of the game, at the depths of the lab, gave a forced vibe and kind of contradicts itself (really can't explain it better without spoilers).

Is it worth $20? Sure.
Is it worth $50? Nah.

TROLL lol just messing with you.

I say it was worth the costs (although I got it for free, legit).
It was a full fledged game that had a lot of substance and things lacking from the first.

I just wish it was harder. Only a few of the later puzzles in the game challenged me.

Great atmosphere, art direction and character development though.

Everything was great, but yeah it was a bit on the easy side. If you go and buy the "Final Hours of Portal" app for iPad, it says that the game was meant to be A LOT harder, but thanks to stupid playtesters dumbing down the game, we never got the difficult stuff. One of the elements that were removed was a "gel that enables you to walk up walls"

Wheatley took over.
going by his hacking skills, probably took him forever
Now Sony are looking for the potato that can help them overcome this...

If you still want your fix of that play the game Tag: The Power of Paint.
I remember playing this around when it came out and thinking it was really cool, but pretty dumbed down.
When they introduced the gels to Portal 2 they did mention that it came from this.
I was excited to see if they'd include all of the paints, but alas, they didn't.
However, yes, there is a paint that allows you to walk up walls in this game.

Only played the single player (no-one to Co-op with)

- thought it WAS easier than Portal 2, but some puzzles on Portal 1 were quite hard to do IMHO, especially when I kept getting disoriented going through the portals.

Nice story line for a follow up, but did seem 'shorter' in length than portal 1 (but that could be because of the constant re-trying I had to do it the original)

Will have to re-play it again to get a few single player achievements, but don't think I'll ever get the Co-op though (I can never guarentee when I have time to play without interruptions) which is a shame (but then again I can never seem to complete a full achievement on any of the Steam games I have)

Yeah, when they introduced the white paint in Portal I tried walking up walls with it, only to be depressed.
Still, they used it uniquely and it worked well.
Very well in terms of story as well

i loved the gel ideas, but probably mostly the bridges
biggrin.gif
[and ofc i love the turrets]
apart from having to use the damn steam, it was an epic game
the story was a lil bit obvious for me, at least it felt like it, but the voice acting and ideas were amazing
