Portal 2 DLC #1 will be free

So does anybody know the reason as to why they're caring for so much about Portal 2 but won't care much about Half Life 2 ep 3 that was supposed to be out in 2007?

Ep 2 wasn't supposed to be out in late 2007 though. It was supposed to be out in June 2006. Episode 3 was supposed to be in Christmas 2007.

Then look what became of it, nothing. No word. No mention, no easter eggs hinting, nothing. It's as if we were just left off at the cliff without seeing if we'll live or die.
